To ease any discomfort, a topical numbing agent cream is applied. Then the injection will take place, which involves having a small needle injected into various areas of the lips. Dramatic results are observed immediately and it takes 1-2 days for the swelling to subside. Recovery time is usually one week. A review will be carried out in two weeks where touch ups can be made.
