NON-SURGICAL FACE LIFT

PDO Thread Lift

PDO threads offer the very latest technology for soft, natural-looking thread lifting in a non-invasive procedure. The PDO thread lift is designed for effective facial rejuvenation without surgery.  The procedure helps to reverse the key effects of ageing such as wrinkles, saggy skin, deep creases, folds and poor skin texture.

The non-invasive procedure yields amazing rejuvenation results and is practically painless. It leaves no scar or cuts at all.  Rather than thinking of it as a semi-surgical thread lift, PDO threads act more like a dermal filler, but leaving a thread in the skin instead of an injectable solution.

PDO (Polydioxanone) is absorbed after proliferating collagen by stimulating fibroblast.  It benefits overall face contouring and enhances skin elasticity. It brings a natural and dramatic effect to the face and body after a simple and safe treatment. The superior quality of the Ultra Thin Wall Needle allows the treatment to be easy, atraumatic and painless.

PDO is a strong synthetic monofilament fiber, consisting of one or two twisted solid fiber thread, which dissolves in the tissue after a certain time.

Polydioxanone material more 30 years is used in plastic surgery, gastroenterology, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology for cutaneous and subcutaneous sutures.

Benefits of PDO Thread Lift

The procedure helps to reverse the key effects of aging such as wrinkles, saggy skin, deep creases, folds and poor skin texture. It can improve the profile of a flabby face, raise cheeks or eyebrows, help to prevent eye bags and laughter lines, lift sagging neck skin, raise the smile and angle of the mouth and even tackle smoker lines.

The PDO lift naturally improves skin elasticity and texture, reduces wrinkles, brightens skin tone, produces more defined facial contours, rejuvenating and lifting effect, covers prominent forehead veins.

The mono threads have a screw system which creates a symmetrical and even lifting effect with multi-directional cogs which avoid the danger of over-pulling or dimpling.

The PDO threads can be applied on the body too and can help with a number of areas: lifting and rejuvenating loose abdominal skin (tummy), lifting of breast tissue regenerating the decolletage, lifting buttocks shoulders, forearm, elbows, calves or knees.

During and after the Treatment

The PDO Thread procedure takes up to an hour.  Prior to any dermal filler treatment, a mild anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area for your comfort. It is surprisingly comfortable - patients describe a stinging sensation, similar to acupuncture.

PDO stands for Polydioxanone and this refers to the material used to make the threads used in the lifting procedure. The PDO threads offer a number of specific benefits:

- threads have no cones and thus no damage to the tissue

- excellent safety record; the same thread used in cardiac and other surgical sutures

- ultra-fine threads are naturally broken down by the body over 6-8 months, although the results naturally ‘wear off’ after around 18 months

- transparent material invisible within the skin.

As with any cosmetic treatment, there might be some temporary swelling, redness or bruising. This usually passes within a couple of days.

Results take around 4-6 weeks to fully develop. We will arrange a review two weeks after treatment to check on the progress, a further review after a month and a final appointment after three months where before and after photographs will be compared and a top-up treatment provided if necessary. We recommend:

- avoid other facial/beauty treatments for two weeks

- avoid dental work for a month

- avoid exercise for two weeks and contact sports for the first 4 weeks

The principle behind PDO thread lifting is not simply about pulling the skin into a different position, but rather to stimulate the body’s natural reaction to a ‘foreign body’ – which is to produce collagen and improve blood circulation, contracting the tissue.

The limitations of treatment

The procedure is suitable for most clients from the age of around 25 onwards, when the effects of ageing(thinning tissues due the breakdown of collagen and elastin) start to become apparent.

We do not advise this treatment for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers, those with a tendency to keloid scarring, active skin infections, open wounds, skin lesions or autoimmune diseases.
