The secret of your fresh skin

A chemical skin exfoliates the skin’s top layer to reveal the softer and healthier skin below taking blemishes and signs of ageing with it and promoting skin cell renewal. The patient’s treatment area are; face-neck-hand.

The strength of the chemical peel is determined by patient’s individual skin type and the degree of damage to the skin.

Chemical peel is an option to remove and reduce the appearance of fine surface lines and wrinkles and is used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including environmentally damaged/hyperpigmented, acne scars and even sensitive skin types.

In many cases, wrinkles caused by sun damage, age and heredity can be reduced and eliminated through the use of a series of chemical peels. Irregular skin pigmentation, the sun-damaged skin may also improve as a result of chemical peels.

This particular procedure can increase the skin’s tolerance to external factors and control acne.

During and after the treatment

The procedure only takes about 10 to 20 minutes. During this time, you may experience anything from a mild tingling to a warming of the skin as the peel is applied; the peel is then neutralized depending on which peel is used and appropriate skincare and sunblock are applied.

Chemical peels are categorized based upon how deeply they affect your skin. Lighter chemical peels affect only the top epidermal layer of the skin. Others go deeper and penetrate the dermal layer.

Following your treatment, it is expected to look slightly pink/red, you will be able to immediately resume your day-to-day activities. Depending on the strength type of peel applied, the number of coats will depend on if you will have much flaking or peeling of the skin; this will be discussed in your initial consultation.

You should avoid direct exposure to the sun for extended periods of time for the first week after your peel and effective sun protection needs to be applied. During the first two weeks post-peel, you should also avoid other activities that would aggravate your skin such as exfoliation or waxing.

How many Treatments do I need?

For the best results, we recommend a course of four to six treatments, spaced out at weekly – four-weekly intervals depending on the peel and condition of the skin. Some patients may require more treatments as every treatment plan is different.

The Perfect Peel is a medium to deep peel depending if a booster is used and some clients may only need one of these depending on the condition of their skin.

The Procedure and how do Chemical Peels work

A chemical peel works by removing old, dead skin cells at the surface of the skin to promote new cell growth. Chemical peels can be used to treat a particular area (such as lines around the eyes or mouth) or all over the face, arms, hands, and neck. There are three types of chemical skin peel: superficial chemical peel, medium chemical peel, or deep chemical peel. For optimum results, homecare products can be recommended to prep your skin pre and post peel.
